Tuscany and Petersfield win fifth games in WFA
LLANDILO, Westmoreland – Tuscany Warriors and Petersfield FC raced to their fifth straight wins in the Westmoreland Football Association Victor Lowe Major League on Tuesday with wins over Sav la Mar United and Russia FC respectively at Llandilo Sports Complex.
Malik Williams and Zeco Stone both scored braces for Tuscany Warriors, who beat Sav la Mar United 8-1, while Petersfield FC edged Russia FC 1-0, as both teams improved to 15 points at the top of the tables.
Another double header will be played on Thursday- Twelfth Street will hope to stay in the semi-final race when they face winless Barracks Road in one game while cellar dwellers West Development and Star of the West will meet in the other game.
On Tuesday, Tuscany Warriors led 3-1 at half time before scoring five more goals in the second half against Sav la Mar United who fell to 10th position in the tables.
Malik Williams opened the scoring in the fifth minute and Javin Williams got his first of the season in the 21st minute before Odane Stevens scored for Sav la Mar United in the 38th minute.
Stone scored his first in the 41st minute to restore Tuscany Warrior’s to goals advantage.
It was a one way street in the second half as Stone completed his brace in the 54th minute and Stevaughn Spence made it 5-1 in the 56th minute before Malik Williams also got his brace in the 60th minute.
Antoniel Pringle made the score 7-1 in the 65th minute and Kemar Beckford added an eighth goal in the 75th minute.
In the other game, Doshain Ewen scored in the 33rd minute to lead Petersfield FC to their slim win over Russia FC.
