Lime Hall, Treasure Beach register semi-final wins in Tier II competition
Lime Hall Academy scored a shock 3-2 win over Racing United and Treasure Beach FC beat Tru-Juice FC 2-0 as they took the lead after the first-leg semi-finals of the Jamaica Football Federation Tier II competition on Sunday.
The winners of the semi-finals, which will see the return legs being played on Sunday, will earn promotion to next season’s Jamaica Premier League, replacing Faulkland FC and Chapleton Maroons.
Lime Hall Academy avenged their 2-1 loss to Racing United in the first round, while it was a second win for Treasure Beach FC over Tru-Juice this season.
At Prison Oval, Racing United, who topped the regular season points table, took the lead but Lime Hall Academy rallied to go in front in the second half and took control of the tie going into the second leg to be played at Drax Hall.
Shavaun Reid gave Racing United the lead in the 13th minute, but Dario Stewart equalised in the 33rd minute as they ended the first half at 1-1.
Rohan Sewell gave Lime Hall Academy the lead in the 61st minute for the first time in the game, but Deandre Johnson equalised in the 78th minute.
Rolando Hanson scored the winner in the 84th minute, only his second goal of the season to give Lime Hall the lead in the tie.
Treasure Beach scored twice in the second half to take the edge over Tru-Juice, Tedlar Parchment scored his second goal of the season when he gave the St Elizabeth club the lead in the 58th minute.
Antwone Smith got his first of the season, in the 90th minute to double the advantage.
