LEEDS, England (CMC) – Sunil Narine’s impact was minimal but his Oval Invincibles still eased to a nine-run victory over Northern Superchargers to remain unbeaten in the Men’s Hundred.

The out-of-favour West Indies off-spinner picked up one for 35 from 20 balls, helping Invincibles successfully defend 185 for five at Headingley and post their third win in seven matches.

Choosing to bat first here Friday, Invincibles were propelled by Jordan Cox’s unbeaten 73 off 38 deliveries, the 22-year-old belting eight fours and three sixes.

Jason Roy fell to the first ball of the encounter, but Cox put on 69 for the second wicket with Will Jacks, who made 40 from 25 deliveries, and then added a further 55 for the second wicket with Heinrich Klaasen, who lashed half-dozen sixes in a 22-ball 46.

In reply, Superchargers’ chase was carried by opener Tom Banton who top-scored with 81 from 43 deliveries, while counting seven fours and five sixes.

With the innings slipping at 28 for two, Banton inspired a stand of 57 for the third wicket with Adam Hose, who pummeled a 19-ball 41 and a further 62 for the fourth wicket with Saif Zaib (17).

However, seamer Guy Atkinson claimed three for 24 as Superchargers lost five wickets for 27 runs to watch their challenge fizzle out.
