Rise and Toast was grand
The Rise and Toast brunch-inclusive party added the right amount of flair to the BZR Weekend festivities as it got underway at the Grand Hotel Excelsior in Port Royal on Saturday.
Earlier in the day there were periods of rainfall which threatened a sunny, fun-filled day; however, the sun returned to recapture its glory and all was well again.
Music was provided by the likes of DJ Tyler and Coppershot, who treated partygoers to music from across all genres. Of course, there was the inclusion of Chris Brown tunes to warm eager fans up for the Under The Influence Concert scheduled for the National Stadium today.
The day also saw lots of freebies from various sponsors and unlimited Jamaican cuisine, both for carnivores and vegetarians.
Many of the women, who were dressed to the nines, came equipped with hand-held fans to combat the heat and preserve their face-beats.
It was undeniable that the prelude to the “big day” was well received, but when this Jamaica Observer writer caught up with some patrons, they could not contain their excitement about the upcoming concert.
“I got an ‘Indigo’ pass, which gave me entry to this event. So, I’m here. However, I cannot wait to see Chris Brown in concert tomorrow,” Stacey-Ann Forbes admitted.
Aaron Smith concurred.
“I just can’t wait to see the big man on stage. It’s going to be my first time [seeing him live] and I know he’s going to be excellent,” he told the Observer.
