20-y-o man allegedly found with pistol, ammo charged
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A 20-year-old man has been charged after a pistol and ammunition were allegedly found in his possession on First Street, Trench Town in Kingston on Wednesday.
Charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition is Tavarie Failey, otherwise called ‘Tav’ of Fourth Street in the parish.
Reports from the Denham Town police are that about 4:50 pm, lawmen were on patrol in the area when Failey was seen walking along the roadway.
Upon seeing the police, his behaviour aroused the suspicion of the lawmen.
He was accosted, searched and a 9mm pistol along with a magazine containing two 9mm rounds was seized, the police said.
He was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
