SPOTTED!!!

Managing Director of Dream Aloud Travels Ltd.

Where? At the Jamaica Railway Corporation, 142 Barry Street, for the Karen Booker-hosted affair for Design Week Ja 2023.

The Buzz: DeSilva turned heads in her Audrey Hepburn Old Hollywood aesthetic.

The back story on her look… I’m styled head to toe by the Jamaican designer Kimandamisses.

I chose my look because this was my first time on a train in Jamaica. I instantly thought of Hollywood A-lister the late Audrey Hepburn, a look which Kimandamisses effortlessly executed.

The more… I was born and raised in Jamaica. I grew up in the small town of May Pen but I always had big dreams to see the world. Following this pursuit, I entered the Miss Jamaica World pageant in 2015 and was crowned first runner-up. Afterwards, an interesting opportunity to become a flight attendant in the Middle East presented itself. I took it and now I’ve travelled to over 70 countries across six continents.

With this first-hand experience, I started my company, Dream Aloud Travels in 2018. We curate bespoke global experiences for those who seek the best in life including luxurious honeymoons, family vacations, destination weddings, private jet charters, and more. With partners in over 100 countries, my speciality is to understand the unique travel style of my clients and match them with unparalleled journeys.

I became a luxury travel consultant because… I am passionate about turning travel dreams into reality. My clients are hard-working individuals who are too busy to plan their trips. Their vacation time is valuable and I ensure that it will be stress-free from the beginning to the end.

My last luxe vacay was… in Italy indulging in endless seafood pasta and sailing on Lake Garda. It’s more off the beaten path than Lake Como and I highly recommend it! We drove along the Mediterranean coast to Monaco to see the Formula One track. Europe is known for its pebbled beaches, which I’m not quite fond of, so I finished my trip by finding the most exquisite white sand beach in Cannes!

My next luxe vacay will be… Antarctica since it’s the only continent that I have not visited, or perhaps skiing in Zermatt, St Moritz or Aspen.

SO readers ought to be bookmarking the following countries for their next vacay… Italy, Turks and Caicos and South Africa!

And staying at… I only recommend five-star hotels because of the attention to detail that they provide my clients with. A few of my favourite hotel brands are Four Seasons (they have the best Michelin-starred restaurants), Anantara (they have such kind-hearted staff) and Bulgari (they embroider your initials on your pillow case).

Additionally, the boutique hotels within the “Small Luxury Hotels of the World” group are for a quainter experience. If you’d like to get VIP perks at these hotels, you can book them through our website www.dreamaloudtravels.com. I also suggest private villas for large groups in which I have a personal portfolio of exclusive estates across the globe.

A few of my travel hacks include… always packing a universal plug adapter because different countries have different wall plugs. It’s essential to be able to charge your devices while travelling. Purchase it online before your trip instead of at the airport. Secondly, book through a travel consultant. The Internet is oversaturated with information. Nothing beats having a trusted and experienced consultant to guide you on where to stay, what to do and everything in between.

My preferred mode of transportation is… a yacht. I feel the most at peace when I’m surrounded by water.
