Sittings at HWT court resume after earthquake disruption
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Sittings at the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court in Half-Way-Tree resumed early Monday afternoon after the disruption caused by the estimated 5.6 magnitude earthquake which rocked Jamaica earlier in the day.
The court had been swiftly evacuated after the quake rocked the building shortly close to 11:00 am.

As the building shook, people inside the court screamed and ran for the exit.
“Me feel the whole building shake,” one man said during the commotion.
While everyone gathered in the courtyard, people attempted to make phone calls to check in on their loved ones, with some expressing frustration that they were unable to connect due to the reception being poor.
