Man accused of assaulting woman he walked home after party

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A man who was asked to walk a woman home after they attended a party but reportedly lured her to a dark area where he allegedly sexually assaulted her has been charged in relation to the incident.

Charged with rape and indecent assault is 31-year-old Jerome Hert, a farmer of Waterford, Guys Hill district, St Catherine.

Reports are that on Sunday, May 5 about 2:03 am, Hert was asked to accompany a female home after they attended a party. While walking along the roadway, it is alleged that Hert lured the woman to a dark area where he sexually assaulted her.

A report was made and Hert was charged on Monday, July 15 following a question-and-answer session.

His court date is being finalised.
