Tropical wave to bring thunderstorms to Jamaica on Wednesday
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A strong tropical wave currently located in the eastern Caribbean Sea is expected to move across Jamaica on Wednesday.
According to the Meteorological Service of Jamaica, this area of disturbed weather has a moderate chance of developing into a tropical cyclone over the next few days.
Strong, gusty winds are anticipated across Jamaica, particularly in the southern parishes as the system approaches the island. Fishers and other marine interests are advised to exercise caution as sea conditions are expected to deteriorate.
Periods of showers and thunderstorms, which may be heavy at times, are forecasted to affect sections of most parishes, especially in the eastern and south-central regions, beginning early Wednesday and continuing through Thursday afternoon.
