Jockey Aaron Chatrie slapped with 25-day suspension
The stewards announced the following disciplinary actions arising from inquiries held at the offices of the Jamaica Racing Commission, 8 Winchester Road, Kingston 10, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
Jockey Aaron Chatrie, who rode the horse Power of Faith in the seventh race on Saturday, September 28, 2024 was suspended for 25 race days on a charge of failure to take all permissible measures throughout the race to ensure full opportunity to win said race. The suspension will take effect on Saturday, November 9, 2024.
Jockey Chatrie was also fined $10,000.00 for excessive use of his whip whilst aboard horse Kaylyn Melody in the third race on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
Chatrie has subsequently appealed his suspension.
