ST CATHERINE, Jamaica— The promoter of Wet Dreams, a recently held soca party, has promised that the next staging will be bigger and better, following the positive reception from patrons of the inaugural event.

The first staging of the party dubbed the ‘Bikini Soca Edition’ was held on November 2 at Ultra Beach, St Catherine.

However Otteney Stewart, promoter of Wet Dreams announced that plans are already underway for a second event. He disclosed that other elements will be added to ensure ultimate soca vibes.

“Plans are underway for the next Wet Dreams, which will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025. We’re going to add paint, water, and a whole lot more rum with even more vibes. Get ready for an unforgettable experience filled with creativity and good times,” Stewart promised.

“Our aim is to bring community members from all over Jamaica together, fostering connections and sharing experiences that celebrate our rich culture and vibrant spirit,” the promoter added.

Stewart explained that the idea for Wet Dreams was born out of having dialogue with people, especially women, and conducting his own research which indicated that a bikini soca party was in demand.

“It is a beach soca event, and the beach gives a unique vibe to the occasion. The ladies needed an event that catered for them. Many of them told me they were tired of hearing the ‘choppa’ songs and wanted to hear some soca songs,” he said.

The event was a hit especially with female attendees who were seen dancing in the sand and in the water to songs including Charly Black’s Bike Back, Pumpa’s The A List, and Bayka’s She Like It.

It was an unforgettable night as Di Unit, DJ Peckham, and DJ Mindless took over the musical consoles, delivering a high-intensity mix of dancehall and soca music. The energy on the dance floor was electric, keeping everyone moving and grooving all night long.

Stewart deemed the party a success, though it was hampered by the inclement weather condition.

“Despite the unpredictable weather conditions and our promotion not at its strongest, Wet Dreams was turned up for an unforgettable experience. The patrons dance with abandon, celebrating every beat and groove. However, as mentioned, there were areas we could have improved,” he told the Observer Online.
