Entertainers provide musical thrills at Kamila Kitchen’s opening
Several entertainers, among them Kezmandi, Kelissa, iotosh, and Yardcore, were among those who injected noteworthy performances at the recent grand opening of the newest location of Kamila’s Kitchen — 107 Harbour Street in downtown Kingston.
Owned and operated by multi-hypenate Kamila McDonald, she gave specially invited guests and members of the media an insight into her newest location.
“Kamila’s Kitchen came from my own personal journey. I was once overweight and very unhealthy; this was years ago, and I changed my life completely. I wanted to let everybody know that it’s not hard to change up your life. Over the years I’ve been just sharing with as many people as possible how enjoyable it is to change your life,” said McDonald.
“This is just one of the seven pillars of the wealthy club which also includes live well, eat well, sleep well, feel well, rest well, and drink well. The truth is, when you are changing your life it has to be a holistic approach,” the Miss Jamaica World runner-up, former media personality, and health and fitness guru shared.
Keznamdi, who released his newest single Time on Friday, January 10, performed Victory, Skyline Drive and
Pressure to favourable response from those in attendance.
His sister Kelissa also gave a creditable performance with Slow Down, while Kamila’s daughter Kailani impressed the audience with her faithful rendition of Tessanne Chin’s Hideaway.
A dub session by Yardcore, Runkus, Kelissa, and Keznamdi was also well-received.
McDonald, who already has two other locations of Kamila’s Kitchen — the first one is at Skyline Drive while the other is located inside MarketPlace on Constant Spring Road — said she wasn’t planning on opening a third location.
“The opportunity arose, and I think what came up for me was just being able to reach more people, trying to inspire as many people as possible. The Kamila’s Kitchen movement is about exciting people to eat healthy and to embrace healthy living,” she shared, explaining that she offers healthy alternatives including plant-based meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
