You For Me

You For Me

Take my hand

And hold me close

And don’t let me go

You for me

And me for you

Together we’ll make one

…You For Me by Johnny Gill

Perhaps it was destiny or a bold move — but when plumber Savoy Hewitt reached out to clinical supervisor Natalia Palmer, a spark ignited, which soon blossomed into an extraordinary love story. On March 14, 2025, their hearts became one, exchanging vows at the Anchovy House of Prayer and Praise in St James.

The seeds of their connection were sown in August 2023 when Savoy mustered the courage and messaged Natalia, who resided in the United States, after discovering her profile through a mutual Instagram contact. In four months, their friendship had deepened.

When Natalia’s messages abruptly ceased, Savoy felt a deep sense of loss. Their conversations had revealed a connection so vital that he knew he couldn’t endure another moment without her presence in his life.

“I was trying to figure out how I was going to communicate with her and then she shared her number going into the new year. I knew then, I didn’t want to miss a day without speaking with her,” Savoy told Tuesday Style Vows (TSV). There was no official start to their relationship, but he knew that they were meant for each other.

“He was so consistent, wanting to talk every single day, but I still had my reservations,” Natalia recalled. “When he stated his serious intentions and desire to plan the engagement, I was taken aback, thinking, ‘This is intense! Where did this come from?’”

Their first face-to-face meeting in Baltimore, in March 2024, felt like a joyful reunion of kindred spirits. With their love growing stronger, Natalia felt certain about her future with him. This conviction was beautifully confirmed by a surprise proposal at her home two months later.

“I initially planned a restaurant proposal, but my sister suggested setting up the backyard instead. For two days, Natalia was unaware of my whereabouts,” Savoy explained. “When she came outside and saw me waiting, her surprised ‘What are you doing here?’ turned into a joyful ‘Yes!’ after reading my proposal letter and accepting the flowers.”

The wedding would be just as memorable. Natalia wore a 2-in-1 custom wedding dress from Affix Bridal, while Savoy looked sharp in an all-white tuxedo with green accents. With simple decorations by Plus One Wedding Services setting a serene scene, Natalia, accompanied by her father, Neil Palmer, walked up the aisle to Johnny Gill’s You For Me (The Wedding Song). Guided by Bishop Glendon Dennis and Pastor Lynval Walters, the couple committed their futures to each other in front of their loved ones.

The festivities continued at the Grand A View Hotel in Montego Bay with a sumptuous banquet, followed by the cutting of the couple’s traditional Jamaican wedding cake by Jennifer Blake. The newly-weds shared their first dance to the Shania Twain classic, From This Moment On.

The couple honeymooned at Ocean Coral Spring Hotel in Falmouth, Trelawny.
