I’m still dizzy from the Florida excitement last weekend. Island Grill had its official opening and just like when the Lyns throw a party in Jamaica there was much excitement, gatecrashers a plenty, great food and lots of positive vibes. Missing from the guest lists were the First family Bush and the still reigning Clintons. Fact is though Thalia Lyn and Hilary Clinton will soon be rapping together. Notable bystanders included Rene Simoes, former US Ambassador to Jamaica Stan McLelland, Ray Chang and Michael Lee Chin who had a dinner at his Fisher Island digs on Sunday. Yes, Oprah has a home there too, and the yacht is under construction. Estimate is two years.
Now how many times have I told you that poverty sucks? Brunch on Sunday was at Key West and we did spy Janet Carvalho and mummy and daddy Matalon.
The fallen one did some party work whilst in Florida, but told his audience that he had to leave early to jet back to Jamaica as it was his wedding anniversary. Earth to alien come in please and beam me up cos your guess is as good as mine as to which anniversary he was referring to. Silly me perhaps the first.
All three baby mothers live in cool salubrious Stony Hill. Ah well, perhaps at least two are self-sufficient. The third has had to quit school in foreign at least until after the baby’s birth. If he follows in his father’s footsteps and enters the political foray some say he’ll be likened to Joshua, if music some say Bob. My take on it is much simpler. At least visiting the children is easy. He can literally park and walk.
My partners in Tatler want to know how some people are so fortunate to snag one rich man after another. My response is simple, some watch the death columns, the others check the Business pages. Well, the good news is that yet another one has been snatched. And ladies do not forget that a salary does not a rich man make. Ensure that his contract is secure for at least five years.
Cable and Wireless is fighting back (Digita and Steve Twomey) made the Island Grill opening) and Centennial is gearing up.
G Tech is now in the mix and the excitement has started for number 1 man Brian George has already identified one of Jamaica’s bright young hopefuls. Gavin Beckford will be making the move from Johnson and Johnson very soon.
No silly Sleepless in Seattle was not at dearly beloved’s wedding. Rumour has it that she might be spending yet another year. Three cheers Hip, hip……Hooray.
