TATLER
Last week’s hot news was definitely Air Jamaica’s return to Toronto. Who left a lasting impression was the Canadian High Commissioner, Carl Marshall and his ‘oh so chic’ wife Eileen.
And just when we thought it was all about doom and gloom as far as local education, the news out of Toronto is that Watson Wyatt Worldwide has been on a hiring frenzy in Jamaica. Seems the entire UWI graduating class has been offered jobs all over the USA and Canada with all working papers provided etc. This we dare say is a feather in the cap for the Math department of the UWI, Mona. Watson Wyatt recruits at universities all over North America and will obviously now include Jamaica on the tour.
In Kingston the fabulous Melanie Scott-Subratie is all of six months pregnant. Naturally grandparents are delighted.
And over in Montego Bay Tuesday last, Katrina Casserly threw one of those cleverly understated birthday parties for hubby Patrick. Those chilling out at the Groovy Grouper (Katrina closed it for the soiree) partied till the wee hours of the morning.
Lennox Lewis is tooling around the second city (he too was at the party) in his 12 million dollar silver Range Rover. His house is almost complete. Lewis was at sprinter Donovan Bailey’s wedding held Saturday last at Half Moon. By the way, not too sure which pugilist the New York Post’s gossip columnist was referring to, but surely it could not have been our Lennox.
Rowena Coe is back in Jamaica after a couple of years in the United Kingdom. After a little bit of R&R at Jamaica Inn last week she’ll be back in the thick of the business arena.
The stunning Anna Henriques was on the Rock too, albeit for a brief stopover. Anna attended her good friend Rebecca Tortello’s wedding. The more on Anna is that she has finally relocated to Chicago and has a new love in her life.
We are somewhat saddened to hear that the gorgeous and very lovely Diana-Kay Nash no longer shares a home with Phillip Crimarco.
A Bientot!
PS Ray Chang stated last week in Toronto that if the Pegasus and Hilton deal is not closed soon he’ll simply move on.
PPS Michael Lee-Chin has made a billion dollar profit since his purchase of NCB.
