Save lids, save lives
The Jamaica Cancer Society has once again teamed up with Yoplait and Wisynco for the annual Save Lids to Save Lives campaign to take the message of breast cancer awareness islandwide.
This year’s theme is ‘Taking Care of the Women in our Lives’, actively bringing men on board so they too can play a role. For the month of October — Breast Cancer Awareness Month — Yoplait and Wisynco will visit major town centres across Jamaica in a ‘Carry the Message’ tour. With support from popular personalities and four cycling clubs, cyclists will ride around the island to carry the message. Spokesperson for the campaign is Cherine Anderson, with other celebrities on board including Tami Chynn, Yendi Phillips, and Jenny Jenny.
The public can support the campaign by buying the special Yoplait pink yoghurt, with $8 from each purchase going to the Jamaica Cancer Society. Wisynco and Yoplait have pledged a minimum donation of $500,000.
Breast Cancer Awareness month highlights the importance of early detection as the best defence in the fight against cancer.
