The most romantic thing I’ve ever done for her…
WOMEN are big on romance. They will get mad or depressed when that special person in their lives forget their birthdays, anniversaries or other special occasions, and will make a big deal when planning things just right in setting the stage for a romantic evening.
What many men may not be aware of, is that the little things make a world of difference to a woman in love. Small and seemingly insignificant gestures like holding her hand as you stroll down the street, playing in her hair because it puts her to sleep, kissing her on the forehead ever so often, and a compliment, all spell romance to her. Romance is indeed one way of keeping a relationship on track.
But while many men may appear clueless when it comes to romance, others have their own ways of being romantic. And this week the men explain these gestures.
Dane More, married:
We went to night beach once, no special occasion, and with candlelight and champagne, I kissed her on the bonnet of the car.
Mario W, in a relationship:
It was candlelight dinner at my house. I cooked and lit the candles. I had a rose. This was us celebrating not seeing each other for a year.
Dave R, in a relationship:
I treated her to the spa, a movie, then dinner. It was her birthday weekend.
Steve M, separated:
When I was in a relationship we went and took pictures, then spent the day together. We went for dinner in the evening then to the beach in the night. We spread a sheet on the sand, and watched the stars while listening to the sound of the ocean.
Brian C, engaged:
The most romantic thing would have to be my proposal. It was her birthday. She was expecting a surprise dinner at a restaurant. So some of her friends, family and I made a plan. We ‘ransacked’ her car and pushed it outside the yard to make it appear like a robbery. He sister woke her about 6:00 am and told her that they’d tried to steal her car. She and her family and friends rushed out and started surveying the scene, with them ‘trying’ to call the police. She was close to tears. Three people were discreetly videotaping. More friends were inside the house putting up decorations and setting up a Powerpoint presentation I’d done.
My brother and I were around the road and we drove there fast. When the car drove up, the windows went down and the song Stay With You by John Legend was playing. That’s our song. I jumped out with a bouquet of roses and she started crying. I came out with a banner that said ‘happy birthday’, and when I turned it around it said ‘will you marry me?’ I got on my knees, gave her the roses, and popped out the ring.
Then she went inside and saw the setup complete with birthday cake and present.
Sylvester S, in a relationship:
I took her to a secluded beach unexpectedly one evening. We took off our shoes, held hands and strolled on the sand. Later on we went skinny dipping. That was her first time, and so she was very excited. The best part is that no sex was involved because it wasn’t about that. Walking on the sand on the moonlit night was very exciting.
