Andrea Sinclair’s clutches
She has always been a lover of fashion, and now Andrea Sinclair has expanded her passion to creating 2Qute pieces for other women.
With little experience, a borrowed sewing machine and personal tutor, YouTube, Sinclair started making clutches as a personal interest some time ago. Initially scoffing at the idea of selling her clutches, as she thought they were not of ‘designer’ quality, she has now gone on to market her one of a kind pieces to countless women who are only too happy to have another pretty bag under their arm.
This Immaculate old girl recalled that even while she was a young girl her friends would often compliment her on her sense of style.
“I wouldn’t say I knew I would end up designing clutches or even be in the field of designing for that matter, but I always had a passion to be creative, whether it was recreating an outfit, a hairdo or to decorate a space for a party,” she said.
Her first creations weren’t clutches, but hair accessories and jewellery.
“I started off making jewellery using different fabrics, basically anything that I could get my hands on,” she shared.
As fate would have it, Sinclair had an event to attend one evening and could not find a clutch to match.
“I knew what type of clutch I wanted to go with the outfit I was wearing but after digging though my closet I couldn’t find anything. And so I decided to try making one on my own. And the rest as they say is history.”
Since creating her very first clutch, other women have complimented her on her creations and requested clutches of their own.
Sinclair has since gone on to experiment with different designs, as well as materials for the pieces.
“I’m happy I stuck it out, now people see me and say hey, I saw your designs on TV or in the paper and I love them, they’re cute!” she beamed.
With a summer collection in the pipeline, Sinclair’s 2Qute collection will be hitting local stores and the catwalk soon.
