Friends with benefits
THEY say that sex can make or break a relationship, but what about a friendship?
We have all heard the term ‘friends with benefits’, and it is more often used by people who really don’t have much of a friendship, but more of a friendly understanding. However, there are times when two people who have been friends for a period of time do end up in the bedroom.
We asked people, can friends have sex and still be just friends?
Mark, 32:
I have been in this boat before and so I will say ‘yes’, people can still be good friends and have sex. My friend and I are still good friends. We have a child together. We talked about starting a relationship once she got pregnant, but we decided we would be better off as friends. We are both in relationships and everything is good.
Conroy, 29:
I think that once sex comes into play, it changes the dynamics of things and can affect the friendship.
Dion, 36:
Not sure I would enter into this type of situation. I think I would value my friendship more than the sex, because, chances are, I might end up losing that friend.
Shayla, 27:
I don’t think it can work. I personally wouldn’t mix the two.
Garfield, 36:
I have tried it; it was the biggest mistake ever. She started to tell me she liked me and that having sex with me proved it to her. I had no choice but to end the friendship. Things just got weird between us, real fast.
