Beach Nine by Amy Fennell
Beach Nine by Amy Fennell may be one of the quickest collections created in children’s fashion history! The line hit the runways at Island Child Style 2019 SMS edition on October 5, 2019 mere weeks after the show’s co-conceptualiser Norma Williams gave flight attendant Keisha Fennell a firm nudge towards her dreams.
Fennell, who had been considering launching a swimsuit line for some time, had not considered designs for the little ones, but says the task was made simpler with the help of her friend, certified make-up artist and lash technician Amy Pearson. The two women, who have already established careers, collaborated to create Beach Nine, a vibrant swimsuit collection inspired by the passion to feel and look good.
Fennell, who had been having difficulty identifying a theme for the collection, found inspiration in a rainbow she spotted while driving from the airport after one of her long work trips. This became her colour palette. All the materials used were sourced from a local fabric store and designs were brought to life with the help of seamstresses Beverly Johnson and Rosemarie Brown from Ping’s Fabric.
Beach Nine by Amy Fennell designs are bold, bright and breathable.
