Turning Wishes to Wins

FOR women, a vision board is more than a collection of pretty pictures and inspiring quotes — it’s a roadmap for turning your deepest desires into tangible victories. It’s a powerful tool that bridges the gap between wishing for something and actively working towards it.

The theme of this year’s All Woman vision board workshop, “Wishes to Wins”, reminds us that dreaming is only the first step. To transform those dreams into reality, you need clarity, commitment, and action. By curating images, words, and symbols that represent your goals, you create a visual reminder of the life you’re striving for — a daily push to keep moving forward.

Guest speaker Georgia Crawford-Williams says one of the biggest lessons she hopes to share at the workshop is about balance.

“It’s a word we hear all the time, but what does it actually look like in real life? We get so many messages about who we should be and what our lives should look like, and sometimes we get so lost in one facet of our lives that we forget others even exist — until we’re running on empty,” she said.

“But when all is said and done, how do you go about creating the balance that feels right for you — balance that’s realistic, sustainable, and, most importantly, happy? That’s the journey I want us to take together in this session — to craft a vision of a life that feels true to who we are and where we want to go.”

Crawford-Williams “absolutely” believes vision boarding is an activity that can help women reap significant rewards — “vision boarding leverages the power of visualisation, helping women keep their goals front and centre”, she explained.

“When you can see your dreams every day, it’s like creating a roadmap — a GPS for success.”

Crawford-Williams says it’s a platform she personally uses, and she did it with her family for 2024.

“We had a great time doing it, and a better time looking back at it at the end of the year and then choosing the family member of the year,” she said.

She said she’s very, very, very excited for the event, and “can’t wait to hear and share, to laugh and bond, and most importantly, to visualise the dreams that are going to become 2025’s reality”.

“It’s going to be an inspiring and energising experience, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it!,” she said.

We are so excited!

At the event, not only will women enjoy intentional activities and inspiring words from guest speaker Crawford-Williams, but there will also be amazing giveaways courtesy of sponsors Flow Jamaica, CPJ, JPS, Harbour Wines and Spirits, Chas E Ramson, and AC Hotel, Kingston.

“We are excited to be partnering for the second year in a row with Elle & Vire and Foska for the vision board event,” said Kathryn Silvera, director of sales & marketing at Chas E Ramson Limited.

“Both Elle & Vire and Foska are tasty, healthy options to start off the New Year with your wellness goals.”

Asked about the value of vision boarding, Silvera said they’re an excellent way to visualise and set your targets for the new year.

“Take the time to set your 2025 goals in terms of wealth, health, and happiness, place them on your vision board, and you will be amazed to see how they come to fruition,” she explained.

Debbian Spence-Minott, commercial manager – Harbour Wines & Spirits, Grace Foods & Services, said vision boarding can be a powerful tool for personal and professional growth, goal setting, and self-discovery.

Here’s how:

Clarify your goals

•A vision board helps you define and prioritise what truly matters to you.

•Seeing your goals visually represented can make them more tangible and specific.

Stay focused and motivated

•Displaying your vision board in a visible place serves as a daily reminder of your aspirations.

•It can reignite motivation when you’re feeling stuck or discouraged.

Engage your subconscious mind

•By consistently visualising your goals, you programme your subconscious mind to work toward achieving them.

•Visualisation techniques have been linked to increased confidence and performance.

Boost creativity

• Creating a vision board involves exploring images, words, and ideas, which can inspire new perspectives and solutions.

Manifest your intentions

• Some believe that vision boards help attract opportunities aligned with your desires through the law of attraction.

Track progress over time

•A vision board can serve as a snapshot of your dreams at a particular moment, allowing you to reflect on growth and achievements later.

Practice self-care and mindfulness

•The act of creating a vision board can be a meditative and joyful process, fostering positivity and hope.

“Whether you’re planning your career, improving your relationships, or focusing on personal well-being, a vision board can serve as both a practical and symbolic tool to keep you inspired and aligned with your dreams,” Spence-Minott said.

She said they’re very excited to partner on the initiative, as it aligns with the company and brand values — passionate about personal growth, creativity, and helping others achieve their goals.

“Vision boarding promotes clarity and intentionality, which resonate with our mission and outlook,” she said,

She also highlighted the opportunity for connecting with like-minded people. “We’re very excited to collaborate with individuals who share similar interests or aspirations. Events like this create opportunities to build meaningful relationships and expand your network,” she said.

“Vision boarding events are often vibrant and dynamic, filled with creative expression and positivity. You may enjoy being immersed in an environment that sparks imagination and fuels inspiration.”

Meanwhile, Reshima Kelly Williams, marketing manager, corporate communications, JPS, said the utility is thrilled to be a partner for this event.

“We believe that it’s very important for individuals to plan, to see life as it could be, to marshal our resources as we ought to — and to benefit from the wisdom and insight of others in our community,” she said.  “We at JPS believe that partnerships create possibilities and opportunities, and an event of this nature is in keeping with our desire to positively impact and empower the lives of those around us.  This is an important part of powering what matters.”

Williams said the team is “super excited” about the vision boarding concept.

“We not only believe in vision boards, but many of our team members and leaders are actually practitioners.  It has been proven that there is tremendous value in literally picturing your future — and keeping that vision in front of you as you take steps toward creating that reality,” she said.

“And I personally know of amazing stories that have come out of the vision boarding practice.  It is our hope at JPS, that the ladies participating in this fun but important exercise, will be inspired and energised, as they anticipate a wonderful 2025.”

What do you truly want for 2025?

Start by asking yourself: What do I truly want for this year? Whether it’s a career breakthrough, a better body, financial freedom, or a thriving personal life, envision it boldly. Then, translate those wishes into clear goals. For instance, if you want financial security, find images of a debt-free statement, a dream home, or a vacation that inspires you. If health is your priority, include pictures of active lifestyles, nutritious meals, or the peaceful glow of self-care on your vision board.

But remember, a vision board isn’t magic; it’s a motivator. Place it somewhere you’ll see it daily. Let it remind you to take consistent, focused action — small wins that accumulate over time.

Each image should ignite a spark within, driving you to turn that wish into a win.

Empowered women know that dreams without action are just wishes. With a vision board, you’re not just dreaming — you’re strategising. So, gather your materials, dream big, and let your “Wishes to Wins” journey begin:

When: January 12,2025| Time: 12 pm-5 pm

Where: AC Hotel
