She’s not your ‘bredda’!
RESPECT isn’t just about manners, it’s the backbone of attraction, trust, and longevity in any relationship. As men, it’s easy to think respect means paying the bill, opening doors, or tossing out compliments. But real respect runs deeper. It’s how you treat her mind, her body, her ambition, and her presence in your life. Respect her the right way, and you won’t jus
t keep her attention, you’ll earn her devotion.
That said, and because I’m tired of hearing men call their women ‘bredda’, ‘bro’, ‘chargie’ and ‘dawg’, here are six ways you should be showing her respect.
1) Listen like you mean it
Don’t just nod and “mhmm” while waiting for your turn to talk. Actually hear her. Respect means her words don’t bounce off you, they land. Women can tell when you’re tuned in versus zoning out, and nothing kills attraction faster than feeling unheard.
2) Respect her body, don’t just admire it
Yes, she’s sexy. Yes, you want her. But respect means you don’t treat her like a vending machine for your desires. If she says no, you stop. Period. And when she says yes, you treat intimacy like a privilege and not a right.
3) Protect, don’t possess
There’s a difference between being protective and being controlling. Respect means you can step up when she needs you, but you don’t smother her freedom or track her like she’s property.
4) Value her ambition
A real man isn’t intimidated by a woman who’s got goals. Respect means celebrating her wins, even when they outshine yours. Insecure men tear women down. Confident men clap loud.
5) Keep it 100
Don’t play games, ghost her, or manipulate her. Respect means telling her the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. Women respect men who are straight up way more than those who try to sweet-talk and sneak around.
6) Respect in public equals respect in private
It’s easy to be a good man when people are watching. The real test is behind closed doors. Do you speak to her with the same respect in the kitchen at midnight as you do when introducing her to your friends? That consistency is what earns trust.
Respect isn’t about being soft, it’s about being solid. When you respect her in these ways, you’re not just being a good man, you’re being the kind of man she can trust, follow, and desire without hesitation. And when you do that, it won’t even cross your mind to say “bredda” to her.
