Police seize three guns after shootout in St AndrewMonday, July 01, 2019
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Two men were wounded and three firearms seized after gunmen reportedly engaged police officers in a shootout in Constitutional Hill, St Andrew early this morning.
According the constabulary's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), about 6:30 am, the police went into the community after receiving reports that heavily armed men were carrying out robberies in the area.
“On their arrival, they were attacked by the gunmen. The lawmen returned fire and two men were shot and injured,” CCU said. The wounded men were taken to hospital for treatment.
CCU said the operation is still ongoing.
