'Re-igniting A Nation To Read'

Samantha Charles (second right), CEO, VM Foundation, presents a cheque of one million dollars to Maureen Thompson (second left), director general, Jamaica Library Service, last Wednesday at the Victoria Mutual Group Head Office in Kingston. Looking on are Kishma Simpson (left), senior director, Jamaica Library Service and Sophia Lewis, programme lead, VM Foundation.

The VM Foundation recently signed an agree ent with the Jamaica Library Service in support of its National Reading Competition. It will be the title sponsor for the 2022 staging of the competition, which is geared towards encouraging and developing reading skills in both children, youth and adults, which will further contribute to national development. This year’s competition is under the theme, ‘Re-igniting A Nation To Read’, and all books will be written by Jamaican authors in support of the Jamaica 60th celebrations.
