Portland sales rep charged with gun-related offences

PORTLAND, Jamaica — Detectives from the Portland Police Division have charged a 32-year-old sales representative following an incident in Port Antonio last week.

Charged is Delroy Porteous, of Halls Avenue in Port Antonio. He faces charges of possession of a prohibited weapon and assault at common law.

According to police reports, the incident occurred around 10:23 pm on Thursday, November 13, when Porteous allegedly pointed a firearm at a woman and threatened her during an ongoing dispute.

The matter was reported, and following investigations, Porteous was arrested and later charged.

A court date is being arranged.
