No ID, but voting smooth for Bartlett
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Even though he did not have his voter’s ID, Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) incumbent candidate for St James East Central, Edmund Bartlett, said he was able to cast his vote in a very short time.
“My ID, I didn’t have; so we did a swearing in but that process was seamless,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
“Within a minute we were out of the station,” he added.
Along with his wife, Carmen, Bartlett cast his ballot at Barrett Town Primary and Infant School.
He said early indicators have shown that it will be a busy day.
“We’re expecting a very strong turn out as the day progresses. The reports that I have been getting throughout the constituency is strong voting in all the areas, all the polling divisions are active and so far it is very good,” he said.
