Ashroc hits out at hypocrisy with 2Face
Dancehall artiste Ashroc is blazing a fire in dancehall with his latest single 2Face, a powerful, thought-provoking song which explores the complex emotions of friendship, hypocrisy and betrayal.
“The feedback to this song has been tremendous so far, big respect to BadIndian Records and the team. The message resonates with a lot of people who love the track because they have experienced betrayal and hypocrisy one some level. Right now, we’re turning up the promotion to reach a wider audience,” the artiste, whose real name is Garcia Edwards, said.
He has fast-tracked plans to shoot a video based on the positive feedback.
He grew up in the community of Berkshire District in Westmoreland and attended Manning’s School, where he developed a love for music during his adolescent years performing under the name Fyah Pal.
He shared how he came up with his curious stage name, Ashroc.
“I came up with Ashrock which is formed when a volcano erupts and lava cools and forms a rock which is called ashrock and I shortened the word and spelled my stage name as Ashroc,” he said.
He released his first single, Action, in July 2018 on his birthday and he has continued to hone his craft, scoring a radio hit with Hustling Fever, his most popular song to date.
He migrated to the USA in May 2022.
He will be releasing new songs Overcome and Forever within a few weeks.
