Blaq Rushan ventures into music
BLAQ Rushan (real name Errol Wright) has made a name for himself as a businessman in St James. He operates the Mighty Builders Construction and Landscaping Company as well as the Carib Jerk Restaurant. He is also an events promoter having successfully promoted a series called Closure at Pier One in Montego Bay.
Realising the lack of opportunities for recording artistes located along the island’s tourism mecca, he decided to throw his hat into the production arena. He makes his debut with the North Coast rhythm.
“I ventured into music production because it has always been an aspiration of mine. I have been around music for almost all my life, traveling to different studios and watching audio engineers at work. Entertainment on a whole is my first love,” Blaq Rushan told the Jamaica Observer.
The North Coast rhythm was released earlier this month via Blaq Rushan Productions. It features Dolla Bill by Kraff and Stay to Myself by Pablo YG. Both artistes are signed to his production label.
Other artistes featured on the projects include Deep Jahi, Takeova, Teebone and Adofo. Their songs are to be released shortly.
“I’ve been in the music business for a while now. I started out by managing artistes and promoting events in 2009. Now that I am involved in music production, I plan to use all the knowledge and experience that I have gained over the years to make my label a major force in dancehall music,” said Blaq Rushan.
