‘Genesis’ gets 2023 show season going
In the beginning…
‘GENESIS’, the New Year’s Day gospel event, has been lauded by organisers as a success. It took place at Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in Kingston and Montego Bay Community College Auditorium in St James.
“This year’s staging has been the best over the last four years — the turnout was excellent. The ministers [artistes] came and they delivered, the production was at another level, and we are looking forward to Genesis 2024 with even more blessings,” organiser Kumar Guyah shared in an interview with the Jamaica Observer. “Additionally, with this staging God showed us all that He is still in the business of miracles as this was indeed one of such. All things moved smoothly with little or no hiccups — from the planning to the execution of the ministry.”
Among the headliners at both shows were Kevin Downswell, Samuel Medas, DJ Nicholas, Rhoda Isabella and Jai Kingston.
Also performing were Goddy Goddy, Rian Davis, Orville Sutherland, Petra Kaye, John Mark Wiggan, Trevelle Clarke Whyne, Perpetual Sounds of Praise, Gifted Youth Ministry, Leonell Teape, Carey Sayles, Sudania B, Yvonne Cohen, Christina Kerr Cleghorn and Shaundre Cowan.
DJ Nicholas also praised the 37th renewal of Genesis.
“For me, it was a great experience at Genesis 2023. I love the fact that the production has improved in many areas including audio, video production and the overall presentation. In terms of the patrons, according to the feedback that I have received the audience was excited and extremely receptive and gave me a lot of support. This was one of the best Genesis, based on the responses that I have been getting,” he said.
