Jackson, Clayton win in Rabat Diamond League
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Two-time World Championships gold medallist Shericka Jackson made a spectacular start to her 200m campaign after winning the event at Sunday’s Wanda Diamond League meeting in Rabat, Morocco, running 22.82 seconds (-1.0m/s).
After delaying the start of her season twice before, Jackson had won a 100m at the National Stadium in Kingston before starting the defence of her Diamond League title with a narrow win over Maboundou of the Ivory Coast- 22.96 seconds and France’s Helene Parisot, who ran a personal best 23.02 seconds.
World leader Rushell Clayton won the women’s 400m hurdles with 53.98 seconds, beating compatriot Shiann Salmon who had a season’s best 54.27 seconds, while Janieve Russell was fifth with 55.74 seconds, also a season’s best.
