    A history of the company

The Sally’s Gourmet Kitchen brand is part of the Le Macaron Pastries and Dessert Company, which was started in May 2016. The aim was reinventing how love, passion, commitment, traditions and values can be reflected in the quality of naturally produced coconut oil, condiments, herb blends, and much more. The Sally’s Gourmet Kitchen brand is dedicated to providing products that are free of chemicals and grown naturally in Jamaica.

    The range of new products

Infused virgin coconut oils, organically grown; all-natural herb blends and condiments.

    Where the ingredients are sourced

Our ingredients are sourced from the Blue Mountains and the parish of St Thomas.

Where the products are currently being sold

Our infused coconut oils and roasted garlic blends are currently being sold at the Jamaica Food and Drink Kitchen. We have also recently received approval to sell our products in all Hi-Lo supermarkets throughout Jamaica.

The story behind the packaging for the products

For specialty products such as our infused coconut oils, it is important to dedicate time and effort to sourcing quality coconut oil. However, until consumers actually try our Infused Coconut Oils, it is difficult for them to know whether or not they like our products. Packaging is an essential part of our marketing strategy, not only to reflect the quality of our products but also to communicate our brand identity and to stand out on the shelf. By collaborating with a local Jamaican artist to design our packaging, we create a cycle of employment and sustainability.

    We made these products because

We believe in sustainability and using all natural ingredients that are free from harmful chemicals, including pesticides.

    Our first breakthrough came when

We received an order from Jamaica Food and Drink Kitchen to sell our products.

The products became available to the public in

    July 2023.

    Our core customers are

Companies and individuals who believe in using local products that contain all-natural ingredients.

The response to the products has been

Great and exciting! We have repeat customers who order twice monthly. Once we are able to reach a larger market, we expect to receive more orders. Some of our infused coconut oils and condiments will be available seasonally, as we only use seasonal ingredients in the products.

    Our products are successful because

We use locally sourced ingredients, which appeal to those interested in health and wellness and using organically grown herbs and spices.

We plan to grow the business to become

A brand that is known for using all-natural ingredients and this will resonate with chefs and food enthusiasts alike. We will eventually seek organic certification so I can export the products to markets where consumers are interested in purchasing natural organic products and supporting the Sally’s Gourmet Kitchen brand.

    Our major challenge is

Quality control of products sourced from farmers/suppliers, as local weather conditions affect the growth cycle and therefore, the quality of the ingredients used.

Managing the raw material inventory requires

    Proper drying techniques and storage.

If we knew then what we know now

We would source ingredients in larger volumes rather than smaller quantities.

Jamaicans should support our products because

They are made from 100 per cent locally grown products and all our ingredients are free of any herbicides, fungicides and pesticides. As the Sally’s Gourmet Kitchen range of products contain all-natural ingredients, they are good for the environment and for the health and well-being of Jamaicans.
