Sliders & Sips at The Rib Kage Grill
Whenever my firstborn is in town, I make it a point to slow down, catch up, and share good food. On this day the decision was for us to go and grab some sliders for lunch. Our destination was an easy choice — The Rib Kage Grill at Sovereign North, where fire meets flavour and sliders are serious business.
We went straight for a trio of the signature sliders. The Gyro Lamb Slider, one of my daughters’ favourite, was a bold start — seasoned lamb kissed with garlic and paired with mint sauce and Mediterranean relish. Next was the Asian Glazed Pork Belly Slider. Tender, sweet, smoky, and crisp at the edges. But my favourite? The Angus Slider — a classic done right with perfectly charred beef and traditional toppings — it was hands-down the slider of the day.
To elevate the meal, we each chose a wine from the Wagner Family’s Conundrum line-up. My daughter went with the 2021 Conundrum White Blend — fragrant with tropical fruit, melon, and a hint of honeysuckle. Crisp and refreshing; it played beautifully with the beef and lamb. I chose the 2020 Conundrum Red Blend, a silky, fruit-forward wine with notes of ripe cherry, cocoa, and soft spice.
The vibe at Rib Kage is relaxed but intentional, and with Chef Gariel Ferguson at the helm, the culinary experience is always on point. It’s a place where you can kick back, enjoy the moment, and leave with a satisfied smile.
