$1.2-million worth of ganja seized in Old Harbour
The Old Harbour Police in St Catherine are reporting the seizure of approximately 200 pounds of ganja, valued at $1.2 million on Tuesday, April 26.
According to a police report, lawmen were conducting operational activities along West Street in Old Harbour when a silver Toyota Probox with two men aboard approached the main road and was signalled to stop.
The men disobeyed and sped away towards the entrance to the PJ Patterson Highway.The police officers
pursued the motor vehicle and intercepted it. The two men exited the vehicle and tried to escape, however, one of them was held.
The car was subsequently searched and seven white bags with compressed ganja were found in the car.
The man was taken into custody. Investigations are ongoing.
