114 new COVID-19 cases, one more death
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 114 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, September 15, bringing the infection total to 151,130.
The new cases comprise 65 females and 49 males, with ages ranging from two months to 96 years.
The cases were recorded in Kingston and St Andrew (27), Westmoreland, Trelawny and Clarendon (seven), St James and St Catherine (15), Manchester (two), St Ann (25), St Thomas (five) and Hanover (four).
St Elizabeth, Portland and St Mary reported no new cases of the virus.
Meanwhile, one more death was recorded for the period. The deceased is a 55-year-old male from St Catherine who died in October 2021. This brings the total death toll to 3,289.
There were 51 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 97,953.
Currently, 114 people are hospitalised, 34 of whom are moderately ill, four severely ill and four in critical condition.
Jamaica’s positivity rate for the latest round of testing is 20.5 per cent.
