366 new COVID cases in Jamaica, three deaths reported
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 366 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths on Friday, May 20, bringing the infection total to 133,904 and total deaths to 3,021.
The new cases comprise 216 females and 150 males, with ages ranging from three months to 83 years.
The cases were recorded in St James (94), Kingston and St Andrew (82), St Ann (61), St Elizabeth (36), Westmoreland (35), St Catherine (18), Trelawny (14), Manchester (eight), St Mary (seven), Hanover (six), and Clarendon (five).
The fatalities comprise three men who died in August 2021; two of whom were from St Catherine (ages 90 and 82) and the other from Westmoreland (age 87).
There were 115 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 85,779.
Currently, 74 people are hospitalised, 17 of whom are moderately ill, two severely ill and one critically ill.
Jamaica’s positivity rate in the latest round of testing was 37.9 per cent.
