Carib Cement: No earthquake damage at Rockfort plant
Caribbean Cement Company Limited is dismissing rumours circulating on social media video that its Rockfort manufacturing facility in Kingston was damaged in the magnitude 5.6 earthquake that jolted Jamaica on Monday.
“Caribbean Cement Company wishes to advise members of the public that our investigations have revealed no damage at our Rockfort Plant in Kingston and our operations are running as usual despite recent videos circulating on social media and statements running contrary,” the company said in a statement.

It said there was a brief shutdown of energy at the facility, but that has since been normalized.
In a statement following the earthquake, Prime Minister Andrew Holness said, following initial assessments, damage from the quake appears minor, but he revealed that all earthquake protocols have been activated.
No deaths have been reported.
