Ce’Cile tackles matters of the heart on ‘Cherish My Loving’
Double-platinum-selling dancehall artiste Ce’Cile teams with Bahamian recording artiste Padrino on the single ‘Cherish My Loving’, which was released Friday via Onerpm.
Co-produced by Ce’Cile and Matthew “Keely” Keaveny, ‘Cherish My Loving’ tackles matters of the heart.
“I had initially done a remake of an older song as the main chorus for Cherish My Love but I couldn’t get it cleared so I asked Padrino to sing an intro and do an answer back to my chorus. What he sent back to me was amazing and I just said yes, let’s go,” Ce’Cile explained.
She continued, “The song tackles real issues. I wanted the song to come across as a love song in a positive way because every relationship has its issues and it doesn’t mean there isn’t love. So, it’s a love song in every sense of the word, celebrating and working out the differences.”
Ce’Cile spoke about working with Padrino.
“For me every song is special. I tend to work with people I admire and there are many and of course some I haven’t got a chance to work with. But Padrino is so super talented and I’m sure we will be doing more work together.”
A video for ‘Cherish My Loving’, directed by Jay Will, was also released Friday.
Ce’Cile, who emerged on the dancehall music scene in 2000, has to date released a number of albums including Diary of a Journey, Music and Magic and 2021’s Sophisticated.
Among her hit songs are ‘Can You Do Di Wuk’ with Sean Paul, ‘Waiting’, ‘When You’re Gone’, ‘Hot Like We’ and the British chart hit ‘Gold Dust’ with DJ Fresh which was certified double platinum a few months ago by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
Last year, she published her first children’s book My Hair Story geared at encouraging young black children to love themselves, and embrace their differences including that of their coil.
