#Champs2023: KC's Budhai leads Class 2 discus

KINGSTON, Jamaica- Kingston College’s Daijon Budhai leads the qualifiers for the Class 2 boys’ discus throw after Friday’s qualifications at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.

Budhai threw 45.84m in the second group, just ahead of Jamaica College’s Denzel Phillips, 45.70m, while Clarendon College’s Joseph Salmon threw 43.23m to top the first qualifying group.

Calabar High’s De-Andre Henry threw 43.20m to also advance.

On Thursday night, Jamaica College’s Racquil Broderick created an upset when he won the Class 1 boys' discus throw, when he threw a big lifetime best 62.94m to beat Calabar High’s Kobe Lawrence, the pre championships favourite who had a best of 60.41m. Clarendon College’s Ricardo Hayles took third place with 60.15m.
