Clarendon labourer slapped with firearm charge
CLARENDON, Jamaica –A Clarendon man was charged with unauthorised possession of firearm and ammunition in relation to an incident in Salt River in the parish on Sunday.
Charged is 35-year-old Navado Harridon, a labourer of Spring Village.
Reports from the Lionel Town Police are that about 4:15 pm, police acting on information went to Salt River Road, where Harridon was seen standing at a shop, acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion.
He was reportedly accosted and searched by the police, and one Springfield 9mm Pistol with a magazine loaded with sixteen (16) 9mm rounds was taken from him.
Harridon was transported to the station, where he was interviewed and charged on Monday.
He is set to appear in the Clarendon Parish Court on Thursday, February 9.
