Cop impersonators shoot three in Clarendon, one fatally
CLARENDON, Jamaica — Armed men who identified themselves as police shot three people, one fatally, at a bar in Bucknor, Clarendon Tuesday night.
Dead is 29-year-old Troy Rosewell, a bar operator and security guard, who lived at Pearl Boulevard in the parish.
According to a police report, about 9:15 Tuesday night, the victims were inside a Rectory Road bar — operated by Rosewell and his common-law partner — when the shooting happened. Three men armed with firearms knocked on the door of the bar and shouted, “Police, don’t move!”
It is reported that the armed men entered and shot at the trio. Rosewell was shot multiple times to the head and upper body. His partner and a male customer also received injuries. The shooters escaped in a waiting motor car.
The police were summoned and the victims assisted to the May Pen Hospital where Rosewell was confirmed dead, the female admitted in stable condition and the other man treated and released.
Investigators say they are following strong leads.
