Elaine Thompson-Herah advances to 100m finals at Puerto Rico Athletics Classic
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico— Olympic Games double sprint champion Elaine Thompson-Herah is into tonight’s women’s 100m final at the Puerto Rico International Athletics Classic 2022 after running 11.22 seconds (-2.2m/s) in the preliminaries.
Thompson-Herah’s time was the third best overall and she was joined by compatriot Natalliah Whyte who also ran 11.22 seconds (-0.6m/s) in her heat.
American Cambrea Sturgis ran 11.20 seconds (-0.6m/s), the fastest in the preliminaries followed by Trinidad and Tobago’s Michelle-Lee Ahye- 11.22 seconds (-0.6m/s).
Tamari Davis ran a season’s best 11.24 seconds (-0.6m/s), Kayla White also ran 11.24 seconds (-0.6m/s), Morolake Akinoson- 11.26 seconds (-2.2m/s) and Shania Collins- 11.27 seconds (-2.2m/s).
