Hansle Parchment wins 110m hurdles in Puerto Rico International Athletics Classic
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico— Olympic champion Hansle Parchment ran a season’s best 13.15 seconds (-0.2m/) to win the 110m hurdles at the Puerto Rico International Athletics Classic 2022 on Thursday.
His time beat his previous best of 13.20 seconds that he had run in his season opener at the Velocity Fest 11 meet at the National Stadium.
Parchment beat American Devon Allen (13.20 seconds) with Jamal Britt third with a season’s best 13.30 seconds.
Damion Thomas was seventh with a season’s best 13.58 seconds.
National champion Sean Bailey ran a season’s best 45.42 seconds for second in the men’s 400m -faster than the 45.60 seconds he ran earlier.
Grenada’s Kirani James won the race in a season’s best 44.70 seconds while American Trevor Stewart was third in 45.50 seconds, also his best of the season.
Demish Gaye was seventh in 46.32 seconds.
World Indoor 4x400m medallist Junelle Bromfield was third in the women’s 400m in 51.82 seconds as American Athing Mu won with a season’s best 50.42 seconds, third best in the world, with Puerto Rican Gabby Scott second with a personal best 51.42 seconds.
Chrisann Gordon Powell was sixth with 52.47 seconds.
Chanice Porter was fourth in the women’s long jump with a season’s best of 6.51m (0.3m/s) and Tissanna Hickling was fifth with 6.45m (2.0m/s) as Nigeria’s Ese Brume won with a wind-aided 6.90m (3.5m/s).
