‘Jack Sparrow’ charged with robbery, wounding with intent in St Ann
ST ANN, Jamaica — Detectives assigned to the St Ann Police Division have charged a 46-year-old store worker of Ocho Rios, in the parish with wounding with intent and robbery with aggravation in relation to an incident at the Ocho Rios Food Market on Sunday, July 9.
The man has been identified as Winston Richmond, otherwise called ‘Pirate’ or ‘Jack Sparrow’.
Reports are that about 11:45 pm, a man was sitting inside the market when he was pounced upon by Richmond who allegedly used a piece of iron pipe to hit him several times in the head. Richmond then reportedly robbed the man of an undetermined sum of cash and a cellular phone.
A report was made and an investigation launched.
During the investigation, Richmond was arrested. He was charged on Saturday, August 5 after he was interviewed in the presence of his attorney.
His court date has not been finalised.
