Jackson returns to winning ways in Hungary
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Fastest woman alive Shericka Jackson returned to winning ways Tuesday, running 22.02 seconds to win the 200m at Tuesday’s Istvan Gyulai Memorial at the Bregyó Athletic Centerin Szekesfehervar, Hungary, a World Athletic Continental Tour gold event.
Jackson, who was coming off a loss in the 100m at Sunday’s Diamond League meeting in Poland, was never challenged as she took over the lead at the top of the ‘home stretch’ and won easily.
Briana Williams was seventh in 23.38 seconds.
Ireland’s Rhasidat Adeleke, who was making her professional debut, took second in 22.36 seconds while Anthonique Strachan of The Bahamas was third in 22.45 seconds.
Earlier, Rusheen McDonald ran an impressive season best 44.03 for second in the men’s 400m, his fastest time since he broke the national record in 2015.
Tajay Gayle was second in the men’s long jump with 8.24m, beaten in the final round by Greece’s Miltiadis Tentoglou.
Hansle Parchment and Tyler Mason were second and third respectively in the 110m hurdles, both credited with the same time 13.14 seconds while Damion Thomas was fifth in 13.45 seconds.
