Jamaica reports 127 new COVID-19 cases, one more death
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 127 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, September 4, bringing the infection total to 150,307.
The new cases comprise 78 females and 48 males, with ages ranging from one month to 92 years.
One new death was reported, bringing the death toll to 3,268.
The cases were recorded in Kingston and St Andrew (35), St Catherine (17), St James (10), Clarendon (nine) St Thomas and St Elizabeth (11), Manchester and St Ann (10), St Mary (nine) Portland (six), Westmoreland (three), and Hanover and Trelawny (one).
The deceased is an 86-year-old female from Kingston and St Andrew.
There were 83 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 97,095.
Currently, 120 people are hospitalised, 47 of whom are moderately ill and six in critical condition.
Jamaica’s positivity rate for the latest round of testing is 20.3 per cent.
