Man arrested after firearm and ammo seized in Kingston

KINGSTON, Jamaica - One man was arrested for two counts of shooting with intent and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition following an incident on Bray Street, Kingston 16 on Tuesday, June 14.

Reports from the Elletson Road Police are that about 5:35 pm, two men had a dispute.

One of the men armed himself with a machete. Shortly after, the suspect returned with a firearm and fired several shots in the direction of the complainant, causing several injuries.

The police were summoned and an investigation launched.

The suspect was subsequently apprehended and one Springfield 9mm pistol with a magazine containing one nine millimetre round of ammunition seized.

The identity of the suspect is being withheld pending further investigations.
