Man shot, injured in KPH car park
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A gunman attacked and shot a man in the parking lot of the Kingston Public Hospital on Tuesday, police have confirmed.
The man, a 20-year-old vendor from a Kingston 14 address, was reportedly selling when he was attacked. No motive has been established for the attack.
Police reported that about midday, the man was at the KPH car park selling guineps when he was approached by a man on foot. The man opened gunfire at him before fleeing.
He reportedly received gunshot injuries to his upper back. He was admitted to KPH for treatment.
In April there was a shootout between gunmen and an off-duty cop on the compound of the KPH. This after the cop challenged the gunmen when they attacked a businessman in the hospital’s car park.
Bullets reportedly damaged an ambulance during that incident.
