Shotgun found in motor vehicle in St Elizabeth

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – A firearm and one round of ammunition were seized during an operation along Providence district, Maggotty St Elizabeth on Thursday.

Reports from the Maggotty Police are that about 3:00 pm, a Toyota Axio motor car driver was seen with two men aboard driving along the roadway. The driver was signalled to stop.

When he stopped the vehicle, both men ran.

The vehicle was searched and a shotgun with one 12 gauge cartridge was found in a bag on the back passenger seat.

No one was arrested in relation to the seizure.

Investigations are ongoing.
