Supermarket owners robbed of $500,000 in St Ann
ST ANN, Jamaica – A businessman and woman were robbed of over half a million dollars at gunpoint in Moneague, St Ann on Tuesday evening.
Reports are that about 6:30 pm, the man and woman were at a supermarket they operate when they were held up by three armed men who had traveled to the location in two vehicles, a Toyota Axio and a Toyota Probox. The robbers then escaped.
The Ocho Rios CIB is investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, residents have expressed concern.
“Dem tings ya mek ppl fraid, no weh in Jamaica no safe, whether it be killing, robbery or whatever! Just pure crime,” A resident who identified herself as Marsha said.
Since the start of the year, St Ann has recorded some 55 robberies.
