Teejay drifts onto Billboard

Drift, the summer hit by dancehall artiste Teejay, has finally made its debut on a Billboard chart.

For the chart dated October 7, Drift debuts at number 47 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart. He joins Byron Messia as Jamaican-born dancehall artistes to have an entry on that chart .

Messia's Talibans moves up to number 22 in its 15th week on the chart.

Drift, released in March via Panda/DJ Mac/Top Braff Music, has topped local charts and several charts globally.

A few months ago, Teejay signed a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Publishing and then a record deal with Warner Music.

It is understood that an EP from Teejay is currently in the works.
